CoolSculpting®

Eliminate Stubborn Body Fat

Even with regular diet and exercise, some areas of body fat are stubborn and refuse to go away. CoolSculpting is an FDA-cleared and nonsurgical treatment that freezes cells, causing them to die off in a process called apoptosis. Remaining fat cells will still accumulate fat normally, and with diet and exercise, you can keep it off for good. Both men and women can undergo CoolSculpting treatment to reach aesthetic goals and feel more confident.

At Kitsap Oral, Maxillofacial & Dental Implant Surgery, we offer a variety of cosmetic treatments to help you feel great and achieve the look of your dreams. Contact us for an appointment with our aesthetician, Stacey Eklund, to learn more about CoolSculpting in Silverdale, WA.

How Does CoolSculpting Work?

CoolSculpting works by freezing and killing fat cells—it all comes down to science. Fat cells freeze at a higher temperature than surrounding tissue. CoolSculpting delivers a precise, cool temperature that freezes fat cells underneath the skin in the target area.

There are nine FDA-cleared areas for treatment, so you can target the specific areas you would like to sculpt. These fat cells are frozen and then die. Your body will eliminate these dead cells and still be able to process fat. Once fat cells are eliminated, they are gone for good. Learn more on the official CoolSculpting website.

What to Expect When Undergoing CoolSculpting

The first step is to schedule a consultation at one of our offices, where you will meet with our esthetician. We will discuss your goals for treatment and the areas of fat you would like to address. This is a nonsurgical procedure, so no anesthesia or sedation is necessary.

At our session, we will place the cooling device around the target area. During treatment, you can read a book, check emails, or take a nap! Sit back and relax as the CoolSculpting technology goes to work eliminating stubborn fat. One session takes between 60–90 minutes and there is little to no downtime, so you can resume your normal routine afterward. Additional sessions may be necessary for more drastic results, but you will notice results within a few weeks after just one treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions About CoolSculpting

Can anyone get CoolSculpting?

The ideal CoolSculpting candidate is someone who is generally healthy and near their target weight. CoolSculpting is not weight loss, it is fat loss. This treatment is not ideal for people who are obese, but can be a nonsurgical alternative to liposuction for people close to their target weight range. Contact us to find out if you are a candidate for CoolSculpting or take the online quiz

How much does CoolSculpting cost?

The cost of this treatment will depend on the number and size of the areas you’d like to target. We will discuss these factors with you at the consultation and provide you with a cost estimate.

Are the results from CoolSculpting permanent?

By applying freezing temperatures to the fat cells, they die off in a process called apoptosis. Once these cells die, they are taken away by your body’s natural way of removing dead cells. The fat cells are gone, but remaining cells will still accumulate fat normally. Proper diet and regular exercise is the only way to keep it off for good and maintain your CoolSculpting results.

What does CoolSculpting feel like?

During a session, you will notice a cooling sensation. Some patients experience tingling, pulling, or tugging, but many consider treatment to be comfortable overall.

Is CoolSculpting safe?

CoolSculpting is FDA-cleared to target stubborn fat in nine treatment areas including under the chin and jawline, thighs, abdomen, flanks, bra fat, back fat, under the buttocks, and the upper arms. It is a safe and effective alternative to surgical fat removal procedures.
