Facial Resurfacing

Renew and Refresh Your Skin

There are many non-invasive treatments available to leave your skin feeling and looking refreshed. Facial resurfacing is a quick and minimally invasive way to treat the signs of aging and reduce the appearance of skin conditions, such as acne scars or sun damage.

At Kitsap Oral, Maxillofacial & Dental Implant Surgery, we offer many cosmetic treatments to help you feel and look refreshed. If you are interested in facial resurfacing, contact us for a consultation at any of our offices in Silverdale, Poulsbo, or Port Orchard, WA. Dr. Dhaliwal uses Fraxel® laser treatment for facial resurfacing and only offers this procedure at our Silverdale office.

How Does Laser Skin Resurfacing Work?

Laser skin resurfacing uses a laser to remove skin layer by layer, revealing healthy, younger-looking skin underneath. The laser is very precise and targets the exact area you wish to treat. This yields predictable results and allows your specialists to be fully in control of your treatment. You can expect to see results after only one session, and we can repeat treatment in 3–6 months if needed.

Laser facial resurfacing is great for both men and women. This treatment can treat a variety of skin conditions, including:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes and mouth
  • Acne scars
  • Sun spots
  • Uneven skin tone

Facial Resurfacing Procedure

First, you will meet with Dr. Dhaliwal to talk about your goals and go over the details of your treatment. On the day of your resurfacing procedure, we will use local anesthesia and IV sedation, so you can rest comfortably in a sleep-like state. We will direct the laser beam onto the skin, which will quickly vaporize layers of skin. Treatment for parts of the face can take as fast as 30 minutes, while the full face could take up to 2 hours.

The area will be red after treatment, similar to a sunburn. You should not wear makeup until your skin has fully healed. Remember that laser skin resurfacing aims to improve areas of the skin, not fully correct or change areas entirely. Results will vary depending on your skin condition, the target area, and your age.
