How Is Pro Arch Different From Dentures?
Many patients wear dentures because they are a quick and cost-efficient way to restore their smile. However, dentures do not fuse to the jaw bone like dental implants. Without stimulation, the jaw bone will deteriorate over time. Jaw bone loss can lead to sagging facial features, and treatment to repair the jaw bone can become costly and extensive. Dental implants are inserted into the jaw bone and provide the same stimulation as natural teeth roots, keeping the jaw bone healthy and strong.
Dentures must be replaced every few years due to wear and tear and can cause sores or slide around if not professionally fitted. With an implant-supported denture, your teeth will stay in place at all times. Your dentist can repair your prosthesis if it requires maintenance, but the dental implant posts are designed to last a lifetime.
Types of Anesthesia
Our practice offers many types of anesthesia and sedation for your comfort.
Straumann Pro Arch Procedure
At the consultation appointment, we will take 3D scans of your mouth and face, then discuss your treatment options. Many patients undergo IV sedation for full-arch restoration, but we offer many anesthesia and sedation options for your comfort. Full-arch restoration is a collaborative effort between your oral surgeon and dentist, so we will work closely with your restorative dentist to ensure a seamless experience.
If you have been missing teeth for a long time, the jaw bone may have deteriorated. Prior to receiving implants, we will rebuild the jaw bone using bone grafts. Once there is sufficient jaw bone, you will be ready to undergo implant placement.
Once we have mapped out the details of your surgery and where we will place each dental implant, you will return for the surgical visit. After administering the anesthesia, your oral surgeon will insert the dental implants and attach a temporary prosthesis. In some cases, the final prosthesis is ready at the time of surgery.
After just one surgical visit, you will leave our office with a brand new set of teeth. The implants will fuse to the jaw bone over the next few months. Once healed, your final prosthesis will be attached if this was not done during the initial surgery.

Reviews From Our Full-Arch Restoration Patients
"My name is Brandon. I'm from Poulsbo and I had a full-arch procedure here at Kitsap OMS. The staff here has been professional and friendly. The doctor at Kitsap OMS was very empathetic and patient with my questions and very understanding. He inspired confidence. My procedure went very well. My recovery has gone far better than I expected. I can see that I'm going to have more flexibility in how I just approach a meal or a drink or just getting through a day. I'm very happy to have had the work done here. I would certainly recommend Kitsap OMS. It feels great to have a healthy smile."
